Mario Vietti created his first wines in 1919 before transforming the family farm of Castiglione Falletto into a real winery. In the middle of the 20th century, the Vietti family established itself as one of the most important in Piedmont (Italy's 6th wine region), exporting its production to the United States. The Viettis are also amongst the first in Italy to select and vinify grapes by plots. Barolo and Barbaresco from Vietti (both from the Nebbiolo grape variety) are outstanding and Pikowines welcomes you to discover them! The Viettis have the best terroirs, including those of the famous Langhe hills towards Alba where the Barbera grape variety is grown.
Today Luca Currado (Alfredo’s son, married to a Vietti) runs the estate, always asserting the character and aromatic complexity of his wines. Today he also produces a great Barolo.
