Domaine Latour-Giraud, founded at the end of the 17th century, is located in Meursault and primarily produces white wines (85%). The Latour family has been active there since well before the French Revolution. In 1958 it joined forces with the Giraud family that hitherto had specialised in distillery activities in the Côte d’Or region.
Today, Jean-Pierre Latour, aided by his sister Florence, holds the Domain’s destiny in his able hands. On some ten hectares, the Latour-Giraud families produce the majority of the Meursault 1er Crus (Genevrières, Les Charmes, Les Perrières, Les Bouchères and Le Poruzot). With 2.5 hectares in Meursault Genevrières, the Domaine is the largest producer of that remarkable vintage.
Red wine production, though more limited in terms of size, is nonetheless considerable in terms of sheer quality (Pommard 1er Cru).
