Domaine de Trévallon - Provence
The renaissance of the Baux de Provence vineyards is largely attributable to Eloi Dürrbach. He planted his first vines in 1973 after having painstakingly worked the soils and the landscapes, and harvested his first vintage in 1976.
Certified organic (Ecocert) since the very beginning, the vineyard covers 17 hectares, of which 15 are planted with red varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in equal parts, and 2 hectares with whites, 45% Marsanne, 45% Roussanne and 10% Chardonnay.
Its classification as ‘Vin de Pays’ might have been considered a relegation, but finally proved to be an advantage - allowing this prodigious wine to stand out from the rest of the region’s production. “One of the greatest discoveries in my life has been the wine made at the Domaine de Trevallon” Robert Parker (The Wine of the Rhône Valley and Provence).
