Domaine Giraud - Chateauneuf du Pape
Pierre Giraud is descended from a line of winemakers going back six centuries, and his wife Mireille Buou comes from a family of distillers. They set up this domain in 1974 with only 4 hectares of land and expanded little by little.
In 1981 Mireille’s family distillery building was transformed into a winemaking cellar and Domaine Pierre Giraud’s first vintage was born. This family estate, which now spans 19 hectares (8 all in one block) is notable for its 100 year old Grenache vines in the sector of La Crau.
It was re-named Domaine Giraud in 1998 when the children Marie and François, both qualified in viticulture, took on responsibility for its management. They quickly invested in new winemaking equipment with the advice of Pierre Cambie to obtain the very best from this terroir.
